"Cat Friend"

With spring in the air and our new high temperatures at 60 degrees, Spencer and I are living outside. He has spent the past three days playing in and out of Grandpa's tool sheds. He spent an hour playing with a stool. Spencer would open and close the shed while waving and saying appropriately, "hi stool" and "bye-bye stool". My son is trying to make friends with inanimate objects.

Our back yard neighbors, whom we share a fence with, have a new little cat. Spencer and the cat chase each other up and down the fence, while frequently stopping to put their arms through the chain links to play. It has been so cute. When Chad came home from work Spencer quickly introduced his Dada to the cat by saying "cat friend." My heart melted and broke. He is so smart and cute, but is so starved for a friend. At least this friend is a living, breathing animal. And I thought I needed a playgroup.
