Lately Spencer has been sleeping pretty well (fingers crossed that it continues). We actually slept through the night without him waking us up (we can count on our two hands how many nights like that we have had). He has napped for unusually long periods during the day too. So we will see if he is getting on a schedule now.
He eats everything except peanut butter (when babies have eczema Doctors recommend waiting till three for peanuts) and still loves fruit the most…watermelon and blueberries are the favorites. He has been off the bottle and formula for about a month now and we think he is slimming down a little, but he still has those thighs we love!
Spencer is starting to sit and play a little bit for the first time since he started walking at 10 ½ months. It is nice to have him sit and play or sit and let me read more than a page to him. He still loves the outdoors and still puts everything in his mouth. Lately he has loved playing with telephones and cell phones. Spencer puts the phone to his ear and says “huh” like he is trying to say ‘talk to me’. Belts continue to hold the same fascination as before. Spencer also is good at bending to sniff flowers…so cute. Jumping is the latest and greatest thing to him.
He understands so much and is sometimes obedient and sometimes he runs away from you so that you can’t stop him. According to the Doctor his language skills are advance for a child his age. (Sorry, I am a mom now so I guess I brag) He says, Momma, Dada, his own version of Grandpa that sounds like dada but he stresses it differently, clock, truck, Jesus, that, belt, tree, bird, cat, dog, zebra, pat pat pat while clapping for patty cake and eee when he is hungry. He says “vroom” when he sees a motorcycle and he has even gotten down saying blue and yellow. I admit these words sound similar when he speaks them but he is consistent with placing each word with what it represents to him. He also makes the rooster noise! He knows some sign language: finished (all done) and we are working on milk and please. And of course he shakes his head no.
