Why do they call it the terrible two’s?? Spencer is throwing full out tantrums. He also likes to scream on the top of his lungs when he wants something, is frustrated or is really happy. It is so ear piercing that it causes an instant headache. (For those of you who know anything about my younger years, you probably have no sympathy for me.)
On a much happier note, Spencer is still the entertainer where ever he goes. He waves and says “hi” to all with a big smile on his face, anywhere from the grocery store, restaurants, church to the front window in the living room.
He is a smart little boy. He knows exactly what you are talking about, but will pick and choose when to obey. He likes to sit and take things apart or look at how they work. He is cautious yet adventurous.
Right now he likes to turn the oven light on when I am cooking. Once he leaves the room I will often turn it off. He will eventually come back in and find it off. Spencer will automatically turn it back on with a little flip of his pointer finger and tell me “on”. Then he will press his face against the door to see what is cooking in there.
Reading is still a favorite of Spencer’s. He pulls a book of the shelf and backs his little bottom right up to my lap. If I am cross legged on the floor he plops right down while saying “book” over and over.
Spencer is still a very loving child, who is quite affectionate and sweet. I think he senses my frustration at times and will come and hold my leg or give me a hug. These little “mommy rewards” are why I get out of bed in the morning, when all I care about is more sleep.
