It is always good to be home. I miss my family everyday and always. Malia said it perfectly “I wish you lived like five blocks away so we could play more and Spencer could be my playmate.” I wish that too. I get to see Chad’s siblings interact with Spencer but it touches my heart differently to see him with my family. Watching my family was especially fun because I was reminded that many of the things I say and play with Spencer, come from them. Spencer warmed up to them so quickly, just like my last trip home. I think it is because they look and sound like me, so it is familiar to Spencer. He gave them so many kisses…it is like he knows he has to get it in because he doesn’t get to see them that often. He loved seeing what his Oma was making in the kitchen and followed his Opa like a little shadow. Malia and Spencer were truly playmates and he enjoyed his crazy Tante Marissa.
As for me I played lots of games, played American Girl Dolls, walked to and from school, shopped like a mom who never gets to shop and ate my mom’s good cooking (gained five pounds in the two week visit). I hope that you Flipse’s had as good a visit as we did.
